Manaswini Foundation, in association with Deepshikha Musicals, presented a scintillating evening of music titled “Nostalgic 90s” at Persistent Auditorium on Sunday, 12th February 2023.
The event featured ten talented singers who regaled an enthusiastic audience with foot-tapping hits from the 1990s, evoking waves of nostalgia. The evening commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony by Smt. Mandira Ganguly, renowned literateur, and Surmani Pandit Shankar Bhattacharya, Sarod Maestro. Both were felicitated by Neelam Bowade, Chairperson of Manaswini Foundation, and Deepak Chowdhury, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to literature and Hindustani classical music, respectively.
The musical journey began with a soulful rendition of Saraswati Vandana by Dr. Vaswati Dutta, Smt. Shubhra Sinha, and Smt. Sonali Iyer, setting a serene tone for the evening.
Following this, the audience was treated to an array of chartbusters and beloved hits from the 90s, brilliantly performed by a mix of amateur and professional singers. Notable performers included Shri Deepak Chowdhury, Pinaki Mukherjee, Prashant Dhabre, Gautam Sanyal, Sandeep Chowdhury, along with Smt. Sharmistha Jha and Swastika Thakur. A special highlight was the participation of a galaxy of medicos led by Dr. Nishikant Lokhande, Dr. Suresh Iyer, and Dr. Rajasi Sengupta.
The musical ensemble was superbly supported by the Swar Pancham group, led by the renowned keyboardist Pankaj Singh and his talented team. The event was expertly compered by Rinku Chakraborty, who kept the audience engaged throughout the evening.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all patrons, supporters, and well-wishers who made the event a grand success.
