We all understand the benefits of using paper bags — they are environmentally friendly, made from renewable resources, and highly recyclable. Paper bags are an excellent alternative to harmful plastic and polythene bags, which pollute our planet.
In line with this, Manaswini Foundation organized a Paper Bag Making Workshop at M.A. K. Azad Urdu School, Teka, Nagpur. Mrs. Suman Dass and Ms. Chanda Mukase guided the girl students in creating various types of bags using old newspapers and craft paper.
Around 200 girls actively participated in this workshop. The primary goal was to raise awareness about environmental conservation and demonstrate how easily available materials can be creatively reused to promote economic development.
This initiative empowered unskilled and economically disadvantaged girls by helping them develop skills to start micro-enterprises. It has opened a pathway for them to earn a sustainable income and support their families.
