Empowering Girls Through Skill-Based Learning
Manaswini Foundation regularly organizes vocational training programs aimed at empowering underprivileged girls and women by providing them with practical, income-generating skills. These programs focus on quality livelihood training and equip participants with the knowledge to start small-scale home-based enterprises with minimal investment.
Recently, an Organic Herbal Soap-Making Workshop was conducted at Bhide Higher Secondary Girls School, Sitabuldi, Nagpur. The session was led by Ms. Bhavana Chapke, a well-known expert from Bhavana’s Kitchen, who guided the students through the entire process of natural soap making.
Ms. Bhavana taught the participants how to create over 15 types of herbal soaps, using natural ingredients like essential oils, herbs, and skin-friendly additives. She also explained how to customize the soaps for personal skincare needs — a valuable alternative for those avoiding harsh, chemical-based products available in the market.
Homemade herbal soaps are increasingly in demand, and this workshop provided the girls with hands-on experience and a practical skill that can help them generate income even during their studies.
